What is the best gift you can give to your teenage daughter on Valentine`s day?
The best Valentine's gift my mother gave me was simple, just a card and a note to say she loved me. It was a surprise, since I was traveling. She slipped it into my suitcase somehow without me knowing and I found it later.
When I was 13, my mom filled a jar with all of my favorite candy and tied a bow around it. She also gave me a card in the shape of a heart with a really sweet message. It was one of my favorite Valentine's days.
I've read some news accounts of fathers taking out their pre-teen and early-teen daughters for Valentine's Day and showing them how they should be treated by a date in the future - Picking them up at the door and escorting them to the car (not honking), opening doors, speaking respectfully to her, asking her opinions, selecting a nice (tho not particularly extravagant) place to eat, and other things of that nature. Setting the girls up to recognize respect from disrespect in the dating world is a great gift.
