Many stories of Saint Patrick abound, My understanding is this: he was actually an Englishman whose small coastal village pillaged during which he was conscripted by the Royal Navy. He was sold into slavery in Ireland and the story becomes more fascinating.
I think he was a saint who brought Christianity to Ireland I might be wrong but pretty sure.
