What's a great gift basket item? The theme is green (either eco or color).
My daughter's school has a silent auction on gift baskets made from donated items. I need a great and affordable donation idea. Right now all I've got in mind is handmade soaps from an area soapery.
To go hand-in-hand with the soaps, you can buy very inexpensive, plain hand towels or wash clothes and sew a strip of lace along the edges. It makes the towels or wash clothes look more expensive and sort of Victorian. Also a couple of scented votive candles are inexpensive and they can be wrapped and tied in a piece of fabric as sachets. I did a hub on the sachets for a kid's craft project.
Sounds like a fun auction. Another gift basket idea if you have any DVD's that are in new shape - you can do a basket called "date night." Add a couple of DVD's, pretty paper napkins, a couple of candles and a package or one serving of microwave popcorn.
Loved all of duffsmoms suggestions..Also, you may be able to find some inexpensive green wash cloths (like at the dollar store near you) and roll them up and place those in a basket with your soap.. also like duffsmom said, a candle would be perfect.. you may be able to find some inexpensive green colored candles at the local dollar store as well or you could get a package of green tea lights and add those in. Maybe you could find some green colored bubble bath, too and maybe put in a decorative bottle. I think even if they were all different shades of green it would still be cute. Maybe use some pretty green ribbon and a cute tag to wrap up your gift basket Hope this helps!

I'm a fan of Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour, so here's my idea... name a song with a color in the title or a band with a color in their nameBlue Suede Shoes
