    Absolutely smile I gave my girlfriend two cards (one covered with a written note), helped her make tons of cookies, and are going out to make pottery gifts for each other.

    It may not be the fanciest of things to do, but I feel that it's romantic. It takes a lot of thought to write down what you really think about them.

    I'm a firm believer that I should show my love to my friends, family, and husband every day, and that Valentine's is just another day. 

    I do leave love notes occasionally to surprise my husband with as often as I can.  Personally, I prefer activities and doing things to most standard gifts.

    I write a simple sweet card in nice calligraphy, but that is normally just to make me happy. He always gets his gifts.
