What is your favorite Holiday song?

Is there a specific song you enjoy only when it is covered by a certain artist?  Is there a song you can listen to over and over again?

One of my favorite holiday songs is "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas".  This song is so lively, fun to sing with the kids and it develops a positive attitude every time I hear it on the radio.  I cannot remember who sings it, but it's the cutest voice for such a fun song.

I actually just watched a video of the little girl singing this on the Ed Sullivan show back in the 60s.  I can't remember her name, but yes.  I love this song, too!

I'm a fan of the "Crypt Keepers Christmas Carols"  needles to say not a fan of Xmas. They are all pretty good.

Some of the best songs are the non traditional ones.  Hearing the same old songs every year can get a bit boring, so mixing it up is always appreciated!  Ever heard Dr. Demento's Christmas album?

Song?  It has to be plural.  Songs?

    - For secular music there is no substitution for Nat King Cole singing “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire”
    ( http://cmoneyspinner.tumblr.com/post/62 … the-season )
and for Bing Crosby crooning “White Christmas”.

    - For religious music that reflect the reason for the season, usually performed by a choir or soloist with a choir, the two songs are “O Holy Night” and “Oh Come! Oh Come! Emanuel”; and the unlikely collaboration between Bing Crosby and David Bowie that resulted in a timeless classic medley:  “The Little Drummer Boy / Peace on Earth”.  http://youtu.be/DiXjbI3kRus

Glad you asked this question.  Now I'm even more in the mood for celebrating the holidays! smile

"The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole has to be one of my favorites too.  Love that man's voice!  And you're totally right about "The Little Drummer Boy" duet.  Such an odd pair, but such great results!
