    What's your favorite month?

I just love the fall.  With it being October, I just feel so happy and refreshed.  The weather is crisp and the world, beautiful with color.  In my town, there is a huge festival happening this weekend called Applefest.  My family is coming in from out of town and we all eat comfort food and go antiquing.  What is your favorite time of year?

December! I just bask in the Christmassy goodness. I love watching Christmas movies, hoping for a snowfall, all the beautiful lights and decorations, cozy winter clothes, Christmas shopping... I start looking forward to December by like July.

You make it sound so good!  Glad its ahead!  I used to love Christmas.  Since I became a mom and wife, I get so stressed out at Christmas with all the cooking and gifts to buy.  I am going to try to look at it through your eyes this year!  Thanks!

See I love the gift buying and Christmas baking stuff. smile I find it a lot more fun having a child because it sort of brings the magic back.

October is also my favorite month for the same reasons you mentioned in the first part. October is also the spooky month leading to Halloween which is my favorite holiday. Oh, and my birthday is in October as well. Lots of celebrations there too smile

I love Halloween, too. I actually got married on Halloween so it is our anniversary!  It was a coincidence but we should have thought more about it because it is so about the kids now.  But I love every minute of it!

August is probably my favorite month of the year because it's usually warm wherever you go. I enjoy staying in beach resorts while sipping cocktails, listening to music on my iPod, and staring out at the ocean through my sunglasses.
Generally you can plan most outdoor activities without too much worry concerning the weather.
However if I had to pick my (favorite time of year) I would go with fall. It's very colorful and like you I enjoy "comfort food" around this time of year. Thanksgiving is probably my all time favorite holiday. It still retains the spirit of family and friends coming together simply to eat and spend time together.
Christmas has become way too commercialized. Many department stores started putting up Christmas decorations in September!

Thanks, dashingscorpio.  I should have known that asking writers this question would get me wonderfully descriptive answers.  You brought me there!

Now that you asked and I thought about it, I'd also have to say October and, to be specific, the first couple of weeks. It's still fairly warm in the afternoons and I love seeing all of the brightly colored trees.

I don't necessarily have a favorite month, more like a favorite season. I love the fall and I especially love October because of Halloween (I love Halloween). The leaves changing colors, the weather getting cooler, back to school season. Fall, I feel is a very meaningful time, that makes you more introspective and ponder deeply and feel closer to and cherish your family and friends more.  Halloween and Thanksgiving are holidays that bring people together. Plus the weather is moderate and beautiful.
Spring is my 2nd favorite season, because its a revival of the spirit that is lost in the winter. Its refreshing and makes you feel so optimistic!!!! Great question!!!

Danicole, I so get you.  You said it perfectly.  Something about the fall does make you bring family closer, or want to be with them and cozy.  Although today, my allergies are killing me!!!!!  Only downside for me....!

I would have to text.that it would be December; however, if we could stretch it out a wee-bit, ideally it is from American Thanksgiving (last week in November) until the Epiphany (January 6th). This is a most special time for me and my loved ones. A  period of time with many gatherings, joy, peacefulness mixed with some frantic yet fun times, and givings. It is also the most significant down-time from our careers and an optimum time to maximize my hockey-habit...

Sounds great connorj.  I am going to try to be more like you during that special time.  You are right.  That is a blessed season!

For me, it's a tie... October and April.  After moving to Florida 14 years ago they quickly became my 2 favorite months.  They have absolutely gorgeous temperatures with very low humidity - that means a lot here in the Sunshine State!

So nice to hear about other places.  I hope you are enjoying your October!  I have to remember to look around me and notice the wonderful things about being alive in this beautiful world!  Especially now...

October here as well and for many of the same reasons you mention. The crispness in the air, the changing of the leaves just gives me such a feeling of renewal and refreshment, I adore it. For me, it feels like a new year. I get recharged and look to things I want to change or make better or even embark upon. It's awesome and I love it!

    Great question!

Thanks, Mel92114.  I think it is nice sometimes to slow down and just look at the beauty around us.  We miss so much being busy.  I do think the fall brings a sense of renewal and makes you feel like you could possibly accomplish a lot of things!

Probably November.  Beautiful fall decorations begin in earnest all over neighborhoods with the hideousness of halloween once again behind us for a year, and it kicks off the end of year and New Years' celebrations.  It's the time of year that softens severe winters and gives us a chance to enjoy family and friends in special ways.  But then there's February with bright daffodils' promise of spring, May with all her early spring flowers and late spring buds, July with sunshine and ocean waves, September's harvests…oh my, what a question!  wink
