What do you do when you LOVE the holidays, but only love some of your family?!?
I had moved far from my family for several years and missed holiday gatherings so much. So, my daughter and I moved "home" and now we get to see family anytime we want, but don't always want to! I love some of my family dearly, but the others make it near impossible to want to go. Such a dilemma......I mean of course I'll go, but sometimes I wonder, 'Why did we come back?!?' Ugh!
I personally can't imagine relocating simply because of the holidays. It's not unheard of for people to travel in order to meet family for the holidays. Maybe your real motive extends beyond Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Lots of people don't get along with certain family members so they simply endure them for the holidays and keep all discussions on the light side. You always have the option to travel someplace else. There is no rule that says you have to attend every holiday gathering. Cancun is lovely this time of year!
Holidays just seem to be the time of year when you're forced to be around the ones you like and the ones that are on the naughty list! Needed a "safe" place to vent and get some other opinions on family and holidays. But Cancun does sound nice lol I may keep that in mind for next year!!
