Has anyone really been successful in keeping the new years resolutions?  If so, what motives you or better yet what draws you back to your old ways? Just wondering...

Posted a hub last night - I too found small steps did the trick.  Stats show only about 8% keep their resolutions over the long haul.

I like to make resolutions for the New Year because it gives me something to look forward to achieving.  Besides, January and Ferbruary are pretty boring months, what else have I got to do?  but actually, I usually am good at my resolutions and it makes me feel good.  But i certainly don't get down on myself if i slip a little.  I'm only human after all...
