My favorite memories about Thanksgiving is from when I was younger and even when my kids were young. The day after Thanksgiving is when The Christmas holidays started, not in July. Always looked forward to that.
I participated in the International Bed Race in Preston, Idaho one year. I was the rider on the bed. When the official says go each team (8 runners and 2 riders) has to dress their rider in a night gown and helmet, put them on the bed, race the bed and rider a few blocks and then switch riders (transferring the night gown and helmet) and finish the race.
Most years I spent Thanksgiving with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins (and my immediate family) that lived in Preston at the time. It was one of my favorite Holidays as a child because I loved spending the time with extended family.
My favorite memories are when I was in high school and our school always had their last football game on Thanksgiving Day and my brother, father and I always went to it and when we came home my mother always had the dinner ready and the table set and we always had a lot of relatives over. It was a really fond memory.
