In the 1939 film Wizard of Oz the character of Glinda was played by actress Billie Burke. Glinda set Dorthy Gale on her trip to the Emerald City to find the Great and Powerful Oz.

Billie Burke wore a long sleeved pink gown in the film when she played Glinda. Glinda appeared like a princess in the huge ball gown. The theatrical costume featured puffed sleeves and silver accents.

Glinda was depicted with a huge silver crown that sat on top of her head. She carried a long stemmed wand with a star on the top.

    When Margaret Hamilton took the role of the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1939 classic the "Wizard of Oz" I doubt she could have invisioned that she would be the model for what a witch looked and sounded like.
