Short Story: Daddy's Love . Part (3) The Shock!

The Surprise!

After several minutes of knocking on the door, he started having flashbacks of what happened to his wife several years ago, when she had found out, that her sons were dead . So he rushed down the stars to the car, and grabbed his keys , and ran back up again to the door. He knew which keys it was pretty well , but after all that was going through his mind , his concentration,was zero. After all he was only living in that same house, for twenty six years.

He became extremely nervous, but the third key worked, and he bolted through the door , then started shouting his wife's name, Catherine , Catherine where are you , as he listened for any sound, all he heard was the sound of the television upstairs and that’s where he headed and kept shouting Catherine.

He quickly opened their bedroom door, and no sooner it stopped ant something soft, it was his wife, he saw her hands lying across the carpet on the floor. He then squeezes his way through the door and kept speaking Catherine, Catherine, he felt for a pulse, and there it was, quite faint but he felt it.

He grabbed the house phone and quickly dialed 911 and shouted out to God ! Why me oh lord! Before he could say another word, the 911 operator kept saying hello, hello he was hearing, but during all that was going on he was hearing the news on the television, at one time the reporter said , they did not find the girl , but her kidnappers were somehow mysteriously both dead. HE saw that same red car that he was following , but nothing was confirmed about his angel, and he just went into shock.

Confused and almost in some other world he sat there with the phone in hand, but he could not move, nor speak , he hears voices downstairs saying this is the police is anyone at home. The 911 operator had already called the police and gave them the address, she stayed on both calls and told the police that she heard a television on.

They also heard the television and went to the direction of the sound, saying police anyone home? As they pushed the door a little more they saw the woman, that was Catherine on the floor and her husband in a daze by the telephone close to the TV. The operator was still on the husbands phone and was ordered to send the ambulance, two people down ,

They checked Catherine ‘s pulse , it was faint, and the other officer checked the husband, it was strong but he was in a shock of some kind. The officers did what they could on the scene awaiting the arrival of the ambulance.
