Dawn and Evening Rain part two, colloboration with Zeyliah
Asa stared into the red eyes for what felt like hours. Coldness of the night and loneliness of the wait for his father to return had left him frozen in the chilled red light of those eyes. Finally he blinked. Whatever held Asa now was freed and the pup stood on all fours growling at the being that faced him.
"Ah, I wondered when you were going to figure out you were in danger." Came the smooth voice from lips that did not move, but entered Asa's ears.
"I do not know what you are. Nor do I care. Leave me alone."
"Ah, but you see, " the voice paused to add a more dramatic effect to this incredible scene...."I own you, pup."
"No one owns me. I choose who I am part of."
"Hahahahahahahaha, that is rich, Asa."
"How? How did you know my name?"
The being now moved his head slowly back and forth, like a parent would to an errant child.
"You really think that a father would not recognize his own son? You think that this earthquake just happened?" He grinned at his own cleverness.
Asa narrowed his eyes as his ears laid bark even further as he snarled at this being. He knew in his heart that Hiron was not his father.... that his mother died in child birth... He and his brother had been given to the human to raise with his mother's blessing. Asa never allowed himself to think of his biological father. He assumed that person was dead. But the thing now standing in front of him made him angry and filled with hatred.
"You caused this earth shake?" Asa felt his claws dig into the earth to launch at his prey.
"I have been looking for you for the last ten years. That Hirum... he stole you away before I could get to you. He had to pay."
"Pay?"
"Yes. I took care of him a while ago. You won't be getting help form him."
"And, so Father.... is it?... Why would I need help? Are you going to kill me next?"
"Kill? No.... It is my turn with you. I will finish raising you. and that is that."
"And if I refuse?"
"Why should you do that?" The thing looked confused... "You will be a part of my pack."
If this creature had killed Hiron... what of Yoite? Did he know there were two of us? Asa closed his eyes for a second to think.
Too late.... The demon scooped the pup up and held him by the nape of the neck.
"First lesson... never close your eyes when you are facing an enemy." He turned and the two disappeared over the cliff made from the jutting rocks.
