Demon in His Mind
Paranoia!
He tells himself he's fine.
He shoots down single shots,
outside the city lines,
in the bar,
where memories are lost.
The cost of this one
can't be forgotten with a scotch, a gin,
or a bottle with a friend.
No, this demon's ment to haunt him
with a purpose of its own,
torment, torture,
this man who won't go home.
Though his kids plead for daddy,
sadly, he can't tell the soil from the trees.
Life's a death wish, and it's surely his disease.
