Doing Something Stupid Just For The Sake Of It

Doing Something Stupid Just For The Sake Of It

For no real reason i just thought i would write this Hub about doing something stupid just for the sake of it. I have one specific thing that i want to write about so if anyone reads this title and feels the need to do their own stupid thing then go ahead, but if you end up in a court of law because of your own thing then don't go blaming this Hub. There are cases of people saying they were influenced by TV, films, books, games and even in music records to commit crimes and acts of evil so i'm putting these words in just to try and stop the stupidity. Just incase the power of my writing is so intense and hypnotises you into undergoing a character change from sensible to stupid then i must take all precautions. So if you feel you are somebody who is liable to be swept away by the power and emotion of this Hub then look away now. That's it. Go. Run from this Hub never to come back, and whatever you do don't look at the title again. For the last thing i want is a world gone mad, or at least a little stupid and all sense has been lost.

Now i'll move onto the main reason for this Hub. Having got read of the easily lead, or maybe the easily bored if anyone is still reading then i know that you are made of the right stuff and won't be commiting acts of stupidity after reading this. Well, not unless you were planning to anyway.

The main reason for this Hub was, as i said at the start, just one stupid thing i want to write about today. Possibly i will follow up with other stupid things if i can think of more. This one, though, is something that came into my head the other day and i thought it would be good to try it out. I haven't actually tried it and i wonder if it just seems funny in my head but actually would be really dull.

The basic premise of this stupid act would be to phone up and arrange for a taxi to come and pick you up at your house. Once it arrives the taxi driver has to sit and wait for a few minutes as there are a few big emotional farewells to your family and friends who are all in your street to wave you off. You have a couple of heavy suitcases which are then put in the taxi. Again there is a lot of emotion and last minute hugs and kisses and people saying "phone when you get there", and "safe journey" and these type of things. Then you are in the taxi and everyone has tears welling up in their eyes as you are about to leave. The taxi driver asks "Where to ?", and you then give him an addres- which happens to be just a few doors down on the same street. He's shocked but drives you to your new destination. You get out of the taxi and are greeted by a host of people, treating you like a long lost son and again there is a lot of emotion and kissing and hugging and even a big banner declaring "WELCOME". In fact some of the people who said goodbye to you have now walked up the street and are now welcoming you as if they haven't seen you for years.

That then was the stupid act i thought about and in my mind it would work perfectly and afterwords everyone would be laughing and the taxi driver would have a glint in his eye and say that it made his day, but in reality it would probably go badly wrong and we'd end up getting sued by the taxi driver or he'd drive me miles away and dump me after he heard the address i wanted to go to.

The reality is it is stupid and that's probably why everything about it is stupid. From the actual plan to the fact that the only one who didn't know what was happening was the taxi driver and also just for staging this nonsense it would cost money as obviously the taxi driver would still need to be paid.

If i had said it was going to be a practical joke it would be quite disappointing but i think as an act of stupidity it certainly ticks all the boxes.

Now, if anyone has read this to the end, thanks for joining me on my stupid journey and now i must go as i've got a taxi waiting.............
