Girls want to have fun, that we do

For young boys this also is true

Boys I say, Be a gent!

With intentions well meant

Lest you meet with the heel of a shoe.

A mean boy did think it quite fun

To pull the girl’s hair and then run

Never had he a hunch

She’d return with a punch

This time the female has won

The young doctor thought it’d be nice

Helping a lady who slipped on the ice

Well, he looked up her skirt

When he checked where she’d hurt

And the slap of her hand he felt twice

The lass quite clearly said no

But still he wanted to go

She was more than just curt

His manhood she did hurt

Take heed, lads. A “no” means just so!

Audra - Thanks for speaking highly of one of my more "endearing" traits. I love that I can finally put it to good use. If you consider funny poetry good use.... It seems that I grew up as a very timid child only to reach adulthood where I started just saying what was on my mind and sticking to it. I m not happy being any other way.

I love your attitude and "spunk"! I admire your ability to say what's on your mind and sticking up for yourself! You have an independence I admire! Great job here!

      JOSH -

Thank you! You really should give it a try. That is one of the great things about hubpages. you can try new things and there are plenty of supportive people to give you feedback!

I have yet to check if I am officially following all of the "Limerick Rules", but they sound good to me. And I am having fun. The next batch will be "official" :)

      Thanks for the votes!
