Come Sit By Me A While:Goodbye November And Hello December !!!
Mmm where to begin ??? Right at the beginning I suppose ;sorry about the waffling folks I think its that sort of day.
To kick off I want to apologise for not having you 'come sit be me a while ' for a long time and to you newer members of my hubfamily who may not know what I am talking about let me fill you in .
Each 'Come Sit By Me A While' which I share with you all take place in my haven ;our paved patio where we grow all sorts of flowers, shrubs, fruit and vegetables.
We have also planted a mini garden in memory of my beloved sister Val and my beautiful daughter Erin my sweet baby. Both are today two sweet angels singing in heaven.
Here they are with me daily in my heart and by my side. therefore here are a couple of links just for you.
You will find links to some of my other hubs in this series at the end of this one.
Its cold but sunny out here in my little haven so keep your coats on but it always amazes me that after a few moments by Erin and Val's garden I always warm up. I apologise that I have nothing nicer today than a few biscuits from my biscuit barrel for you to nibble on!!!
This afternoon I am looking forward to trying out my new food processor once again to make fruit pies and tarts and I shall try my utmost best to keep some for your next visit.I used it last week and the pastry was so soft so I guess I am converted !!!
Oke doke do you all have hot teas and coffees ?? There is a sombre story beginning this hub but I can assure you that it ends on a positive.Pull up a pew and lets begin !!!
I work two shifts daily caring for two wonderful children who have special needs to and fro school. A journey of around 20 miles!!
Yesterday morning as we were heading towards school some lunatic in his car decided to overtake the one that was coming towards us; it was obvious there was not enough room to do so and he crashed his car into ours causing our drivers side window to shatter into ours ; then to make matters worse the lunatic then sped off without stopping !! If Bernie our driver hadn't had the quick reaction to swerve as much as he could to the side we would have had a head on collision ;it doesn't bear thinking about and thankfully we were all ok.
Police can't do much because we didn't get the car registration in the middle of it all !!!Some people are disgusting and its always someone else they hurt. Just so glad it wasn't worse .
So many visions swept through my mind and probably this is what brought on today's hub !!
A time to be oh so grateful !!!
Grandsons Kian and Kayden getting into the Christmas spirit.
For some reason this year I am looking forward to Christmas almost more than usual. It may have something to do with the fact that we decided to buy very large Xmas stockings for each of our grandkids this year and have been busy filling each one with all sorts of surprises instead of the one big present or money as we usually do.
They already have almost everything sin their homes so we thought this would be a great idea .We in turn are having so much fun buying little stocking fillers ;on Sundays we often visit an indoor market about 20 miles away and they have a vast selection of all sorts and like two kids we bought stocking filler after stocking filler. There are 13 grandchildren in all so as you can imagine our spare room is beginning to look like Santa's grotto.
Today's title Goodbye November And Hello December is very apt for me because tomorrow we are into December and this morning I felt a need to contemplate a little of these past 11 months .
Freeverse:Looking back at the year 2013.
There have been tears
there has been laughter
but always there
a voice
a strength
leading me onwards.
There has been pain
there has been peace
but always
that voice
that strength
leading me onwards.
There have been storms
there has been sunshine
but always
that voice
that strength
leading me onwards.
My hubfamily
I treasure you so
for
your love
your kindness
your care.
To rest in your midst
a solace I found
a place to rest
my weary being
cocooned
in your love
your kindness
your care.
You may have cried
you may have suffered
you may be grieving
you may be ailing
I share
that voice
that strength
from deep
in my heart
to lead you onwards.
Acrostic:The Way Of Life.
The way of life
heartfelt emotions
each day
x
Wonders touched with sadness
a mountain to climb
young souls mature
x
Of such heartache
frenzied storms rumble
x
Love then emerges
in each heart a sweet song
for each life taken another born
eternal solace.
Haiku: Each Footstep So Clear.
Each footstep so clear
The paths into tomorrow
Clearly understood.
x
Each tear and laughter
Blossom into sweet rainbows
The gold in each heart.
x
To find such solace
In those footsteps in the sand
Each one we now share.
Rictameter: Each day.
Each day
So precious
Oh to appreciated
Another brand new dawn is here
Another day to be treasured
Never a moment will I take in vain
There is sunshine in each rainstorm
Such beauty in each cloud
Oh how precious
Each day.
I hope you all enjoyed today's hub and I take this moment to thank you all for your life long friendships ; kindness and care!! Many of my hubs in the coming month will have a festive mode and how nice it is for us all to find that kid inside. Mine is never very far from the surface and thank goodness for that!!! We have also shared much joy and laughter and how important it is to keep laughing and living. One very true quote is:
'Laughter is the best medicine!!' oh yes so very true. I shall now leave you with these words:
Here's to so many more hubs for us all to share on here and I send you all a whole load of love all the way from my little corner of Wales.
Have a wonderful weekend one and all.
Eddy.
