Have no idea where this is going.
Something shifted in the darkness. She was sure. Gazing at her, ready to strike. She was certain... it was... all in his head.
Didn't change what she felt. What she knew. Didn't slow the adrenaline. Didn't hamper the fight or flight response that begged her to do something, anything, to keep living.
It was just the dark. Her old nemesis. Taunting her. What could it want, what could it really do? Theres nothing there.
She sprung from the bed sprinting towards the light switch. She couldn't hear anything behind her, but she felt it gaining. It would strike any second. She hit the wall way to fast, arm first, would feel that later. But now, now she didn't care. Se just wanted, needed light.
She flicked the switch. Breathing heavily. Alone. Safe. Just like she knew she was.
