Leadership - What does it mean to me? 30th "Good Word" in the Good Word's Project

Updated on October 23, 2016

Leadership, the 30th word in the "Good Words" project, created by Jo_Goldsmith11, by giving us words to live by in hopes to help and inspire her fellow Hubbers, to become the best writers we can be. This is Jo's calling, to inspire and promote writers, authors and poets to be the best at writing they can be.

When Jo first started the "Good Words" project, I promised to write a poem for every each good Word. I may not get them done as quickly as I would like but will continue to do them as quickly as possible for me.

I so admire Jo for her Leadership in starting this project.

Leadership -What does it mean to me?

© By Shyron Shenko

We see a Leader when we know one

When we see what he/she has done

And the potential they bring out in everyone

That is what leadership means to me

A Leader starts out to help just one

And the cascade from there

Has caused challenges for to share

That is what leadership means to me

A leader is someone instills values

By every word they speak

To lead us to a better place

One that we all seek

A leader is someone who cares

How high WE can reach

And leads by inspiring

Without the need to preach

Well, Trump didn't turn back into a liberal. Not sure what he is. Not even sure he's human.

Now that the Republicans are showing themselves for who they really are, it's not so hard to imagine that they are always the ones getting into trouble breaking the law, like with Nixon (Watergate), Reagan (Iran-Contra), George H.W. Bush (also Iran-Contra and much more -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_poli... George W. Bush (20 scandals -- http://www.thedailybeast.com/20-forgotten-bush-sca... and when you're done with them there are 20 more!).

Trump really does take the cake, thought. Worse than all of the rest combined, and maybe instead of Donald John Trump he should be called Donald Herbert Hoover Trump.

Instead of bringing jobs to the U.S. he's loosing them! Hasn't appointed more than 500 people to fill positions that it's his job to fill. That's 500 people not working and getting paid. If he succeeds in taking 22 million or more people out of the healthcare system lots of jobs will be lost in the healthcare industry too. Then he's cutting education and that means more job losses in public school districts across the country.

Not much of a leader. In fact he doesn't know anything about leadership. That's why he keeps putting his foot in it.

The Republican Party is involved. It isn't Trump alone that is turning the U.S. into a fascist state or the presidency into a dictatorship. It has more to do with oppression and outright theft and nothing to do with leadership. Greed knows no bounds it would seem. Lots of people are going to die in the name of making the filthy rich richer . . .

Hope you and your household are all well. Blessings dear friend.

Au fait, thank you for the comment and sharing. Yes it does look like Trump will be the one, but I heard it explained how they can replace him with Paul Ryan.

I hope your new phone is working well. I will try to call you later today if I can.

      Blessings and Hugs dear friend.

Looks like Mr. Trump is going to lead the GOP, at least for a while. Boy are they gonna be angry if he is elected and turns back into a liberal! Sharing.

Had a dead phone for nearly 15 hours las' night and this morning. Couldn't even reboot it. A new one is on the way via insurance. Hope all is well with you. Blessings and hugs. Hope to talk soon . . .

Au fait, yes inspiration is better than a lecture, and example better than a sermon. I have a cousin Zina, who says she would rather see a sermon anyday than hear one.

My dear friend, you don't know how much I appreciate you, and thank you for the comment, up-votes, post to FB, pin to AH and shar on HP.

Sorry, I could not call yesterday it was past your bedtime when we got home from the meeting.

Lovely poem. It is to inspire others and to lead without thought of self that are the qualities of leadership.

Leaders really do bring out the potential in others. Well said, Shyron. I loved the imagery in your poem, too. Another beautiful contribution to the Good Words project.

Inspiration is better than lecture, and example is better than sermon -- usually. But you know there are some people who only 'get it' if you lecture or sermonize, and there are still others who won't 'get it' even if you take them by the hand and explain every step.

Excellent verse as always. Voted up, BAUI, posted to FB, pinned to AH, and shared on HP!

Great insight as to leadership. You are spot on, dear Shyron. Jo is a great leader, as are you, in inspiring others always, especially with the "Good Words" project. Superb poem and beautiful imagery.

God bless you and keep you.

Shyron, I have to agree with your take on leadership. I especially like the last lines: and leads by inspiring without the need to preach.

      Lovely, poem!
