Listen! Do You Hear What I Hear?

Updated on August 9, 2012

IT'S THERE

in the quiet of the early morning

Beyond the humming of an appliance

Absorbed by the coo of the mourning dove

Yet it rings so loud it shatters what seems to be silence across the globe and remains unheeded by many.

IT'S THERE

in the center of a family

Beyond the hubbub of a busy morning

Absorbed by the last goodnight.

Yet it rings so loud it shatters what seems to be silence across the globe and remains unheeded by many.

IT'S THERE

in the noise of traffic

Beyond the noise of horns and brakes

Absorbed by the humming of motors.

Yet it rings so loud it shatters what seems to be silence across the globe and remains unheeded by many.

IT'S THERE

in the business of work

Beyond the noise of communication and equipment

Absorbed by the barrage of productivity.

Yet it rings so loud it shatters what seems to be silence across the globe and remains unheeded by many.

IT'S THERE

in the solace of evening

Beyond the beauty of a sunset

Absorbed by the deepness of sleep

Yet it rings so loud it shatters what seems to be silence across the globe and remains unheeded by many.

IT'S THIERS'

the call of honor

Beyond the protection of armour

Absorbed by the courage of a soldier,

It rings so loud in the hearts of our young and brave who answer without question,

The call of duty for the love of freedoms ring,

FOR ALL

WITH GRADITUDE TAKE A DEEP BREATH OF FREEDOM- JULY 4TH 2012

      Avialiasvision,

Thank you for your read and comment. This Dec 13th my daughter & I will be placing wreaths on graves at Arlington National Cemetery, as a way of honoring those who sacrificed (this includes her father) and paid it forward for generations yet to come.

My husband also loved that Ralph Waldo Emerson quote. Thank you for your generous compliment.

A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer.

      Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is a favorite quote of mine. Yes, heroes beat to an inner calling. We send out everyday people into service to do extraordinary things in order to preserve the rights of so many.

      A great tribute.

Like your others, I voted you up in a very befitting way. You express yourself beautifully.

Thank you for stopping and the comment. Without the courage of those that volunteer we wouldn't enjoy the freedom we have and too often forget comes with a high cost.

      Hi Sweethearts2

Simply beautiful! Freedom is so precious. We need not forget those who fight for the freedom of their countries.

      Take care :)

      Icbenefield,

Thank you for your comment and vote, they are greatly appreciated. We do sometimes put things on the backburners due to busy lives and problems but on days like July 4th, Veterans Day, Memorial Day we make them truly foremost. You're right we need to be mindful everyday, even if it's only the first thing in the morning or the last thought at night. Cherish what freedom gives us. And, I'm all about sharing. Thank you
