My Star

My Star
I don’t say it enough to you.
I tend to be too tough on you.
What goes unsaid: you make me proud.
You are beautiful, smart and funny, that is true.
I can always spot your smile in a crowd.
I am especially proud of all the little things you do.
At times we cooperate with mutual annoyance.
I hope you know you fill my life with abundance.
Much of the time you consider me bizarre.
No matter, you will always and forever be my star!
I wrote this poem for my daughter to show her that I do appreciate her and that I am proud of her, even when I don't say it.
