Poem - Sleep With My Baby
Sleep With My Baby
My eyes look tired
and her eyes look wide
I'm not saying anything
because i've ran out of lies
She looks angry and i know
that this doesn't sound nice
She looks like a hungry crow
looking at a plate of hot rice
"Do you love me or
do you love your sleep more?"
I feel like i've gone
a thousand times through this before
"Do you love me"
she said again, "or more your sleep?"
I said, baby, what i love more
are our memories that i keep
"Don't go all clint eastwood
on me", very angrily she says
With a raspy voice, i said
but i've tried to change my ways
Yes baby, i am a lazy man
honestly sounding very innocent
But i've never seen a girl
like you, who looked so ambient
"There you go joking again!"
a small smile upon her face
Ah! baby when you smile
the whole world looks so radiant
Listen baby, the two things
i love are my sleep and my lady
So why can't i just get lucky
and go for a Sleep With My Baby!
(she walks away laughing, with a smile upon her face
and i follow her, feeling like i just hit the Jackpot!)
