Rant At Me!: A Poem
What do you do when you need to rant?
Rant at Me!
I want to rant and rage
to feel the heat on my skin, leave
as I blow some smoke
and tip my cup of hope
into the blue.
I can't help but cry and shake
and grab hold of myself in this quake
of feelings as I stab my own heart
in disappointed, hard strokes.
I need to spout off a fountain
and make my quicksand mind
swallow the doubt and guilt.
Maybe between
tears and shakes,
the quicksand quakes,
and my mindless doubt,
I'll empty my soul--
my whole being--
of feeling
and sit on a stage,
a puppet with wage
and an easy grin,
to do the bidding
of the ones who
made it here before me.
Onward cycle.

How many of your friends have staying power? Do you have that staying power for your friends? It seems that I am only a stepping stone in the lives of most of mine.
