Shark Fin Soup: A Poem
Where earth fades to ocean, and human meets shark,
Beneath murky waters, churning and dark!
Perfected survival and arrogance meet,
Man against dinosaur - evolution complete!
Surfers soon dinner - in sharks dark domain,
Shark-bite-sized links in a no-holds-barred chain!
We splash, surf. and frolic - like sweet, juicy snacks,
Then scream bloody murder - when they naturally attack!
How DARE they kill humans - they must be destroyed!
Cull all aggressors - boats now being deployed!
Simply doing what sharks do - yet go forth - decimate,
Mankind doesn't learn - just obliterates!
We don't kill just for vengeance - sharks have such yummy fins,
This planet's so off-kilter - one ponders how it spins!
SOUP is how we justify destroying these ancient beasts,
Hunted down from dusk to dawn cause they make exotic treats?
So, advice for those going swimming - you look a lot like bait,
No hold on terra firma - so boldly tempting fate!
Humans on the half-shell - so much sexier than chum,
Leveling the field - it's time the sharks got some!
It's only fair, I'm thinking - if they take down one or two,
We kill them by the millions - why can't they score a few?
When the tables are reversed - we never hesitate,
Maybe sharks are biting back - before we seal their fate!
