Shine the Spotlight Elsewhere: A Poem
Be Careful What You Wish For...
Shine the spotlight elsewhere,
Be undesirous of it's glare.
Think twice of that you covet,
It can cripple and ensnare!
Choose your idols cautiously,
All that glitters is not gold.
Priceless defined should be how we loved,
Not what we owned or controlled!
Turn the bright lights elsewhere,
Best crave a private course.
Where peace and pride are life's rewards,
Wolves parading in sheep's clothing,
Preying on weaknesses we flaunt,
When one swallows without chewing,
It returns one day to haunt!
Shine the limelight elsewhere,
Fifteen minutes can cause much harm,
A world of greed engulfs us now,
Doing my damnedest to sound the alarm!
