The Help - Kathryn Stockett
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Synopsis of the book The Help by Kathryn Stockett:
It talks about three ordinary women that will take one extraordinary step.
Skeeter with 22 year's old has just returned home after his graduate. She may have a degree, but her mother will not be happy till she has a ring on her finger (it is 1962, Mississippi).
Skeeter is an educated and prosperous young woman with no real plans for her future and she is white. Aibileen and Minny, the titular help who reveal their stories, are black.
The story of these three women forms the basis of Kathryn Stockett’s entertaining and problematic novel. The story happens at Mississippi during the early 1960s. It is an illustrative tale of what it was like to be a black maid during the civil rights movement in racial conflicts at Mississippi.
