The Misfits had a special job

Yes to carry out today;.

They had to transport a baboon

To a Reserve very faraway.

Two employees would be needed

Yes to carry out this task;

Boss sat down and scratched his head

Which two drivers should he ask??

He decided to give it to Percy

Granville should go as well;

They were due a long journey

After the quiet Christmas spell.

They were now setting out

Feeling happy and proud;

The noise was utterly awful

As they sang out so loud.

In record time they did arrive;

At that very first address;

The birds oh so sweetly singing

Their passenger seemingly harmless.

His impressive cage almost glided

As it was loaded onto the truck.

Oh how Percy rubbed his hands

He couldn't believe his good luck!!

Percy sat so deep in thought

As Granville drove in silence.

He decided to check the Baboon

His sense of care immense.

To the Baboon he decided to sing

A song sung by Elvis Presley;

And the so enchanted Monkey

Looked at him so very dearly.

Percy sang 'Love Me Tender!!'

In a voice never called sweet.

Suddenly the Baboon swiped

Sweeping him off his feet !!!

They arrived at the Nature Reserve

With plenty of time to spare;

Granville wondered where Percy was

He slowly began to care !!!

The doors of the truck were opened

But what a wondrous sight to see;

Percy sat there in a very tight grip;

Singing on the Baboon's knee.

Two very large male keepers

Rescued Percy from his plight;

But all his clothes were in tatters

Oh he looked such a strange sight!!

His cap worn by the Baboon

On his shirt he wiped his nose.

Poor Percy broke down in tears

In his not so very gracious pose.

By the time they returned to the office

Everyone had heard the story

Of how Percy had ended his day

Sat on the Monkey's knee.

Percy never ever again sang

Another Elvis Presley song.

And had so many nightmares

That lasted all night long.
