To My Surprise - Lyrical Poetry By Cathy Nerujen
About this love poem...
This lyrical poetry is inspired by listening to the music and romantic songs of Frank Sinatra. It's about love so deep and so profound - the words feel as though they were dipped in wine... like a melody that has haunted me for ever. I hope music lovers enjoy it as much as poetry lovers do. Dedicated to the one I love...
To My Surprise
My surprise
came -
it was a hurricane -
down my spine
you slid -
those eyes -
could launch a hundred ships -
like creeping ninja spies -
a thousand finger tips -
you see -
my love -
tonight I'll make you mine -
sweet lovers lips entwine -
our love's forever more -
we dance upon the shore -
like windmills in the wind -
like wings of butterflies -
two twinkling candle lights -
your eyes -
oh baby your
sweet brown eyes -
what a sweet surprise -
this thing that we're
becoming -
like champagne bubbles
bubbling -
like spices in my mouth -
two lovebirds flying south -
where we can live -
as one -
Oh I am so undone ...
to my surprise -
You took me here tonight -
this tender golden light -
this thing I want so much -
these feelings when we touch -
this sense of being around you -
and now I've found you -
leave nothing here to chance -
let me hold you as we dance -
cheek to cheek -
skin to skin -
in open arms -
so finger thrilling ...
down my spine
you slide -
my eyes are open wide -
to my surprise -
our love is forever more -
now we dance upon the shore -
like windmills in the wind -
like wings of butterflies -
two twinkling candle lights -
oh wings of butterflies -
two hearts that beat as one -
oh Fehl, I'm so undone -
but then it's
no surprise -
this way I'm feeling -
about you.
Dedicated with love and so many hugs for Fehl Dungo. As always, as ever, she inspires my words.
