   My favorite book as a child was the St.Clare-series by Enid Blyton. It used to transport me to a different world though I was an introvert . I used to love similar series like Malory Towers.etc.

   I was always fond of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, because of the orneriness of Tom and the pure cussed tenacity of Huck. They both knew how to have an adventure.

   'Green Eggs and Ham' by Dr. Suess. It was nothing to do with the story however, it was just the comfort of being sat in my Great Grandpas lap while he read it to me... every single time I went to visit!

   My favourite book as a child was "Arabian Nights" - the illustrated kind and I loved it because of the beautiful strange stories and the grand pictures depicting treasures, kingdoms, luxury, adventure and spirits. It seemed like an ethereal world to escape into.

   Obvious as I'm sure it is with my username, I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and I still am. I think that they speak of something very basic in all of us, something that is more powerful than all of the magic and preternatural creatures of the books because the characters possess what truly makes us human, what makes the best of us human.
   
   I also adored Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke because I dreamt of having the power to read myself in and out of books, what avid reader did not, at some point?
