The main character of "The Gospel According to Larry," Josh Swenson, really inspires me. His character was very anti-consumerism. Focusing on relationships and opening minds rather than stuff. His character only owned 75 possessions (he was also 17 and lived with his father). This book taught me that things aren't important and every time I read it I think about all of the stuff I really don't need.
The second book "Vote for Larry" shows that younger people really do make a difference in politics if they just decide to pay attention and vote.
