How do you organize your hand-written writing notes that are scattered in numerous notebooks?

I have notes on observations in restaurants, planes, etc. etc. scattered in 92 (I'm exaggerating) notebooks tucked away in a bookcase or in a drawer or on the floor of a closet.  I never seem to have been able to grab one designated notebook for writing as I zoomed out the door on a trip somewhere and consequently have all manner of spiraled bound one-page notes that I want to gather together.  Do you have a special way of doing this?  We're moving and I need some help fast !

The only suggestion I could offer would be to digitize your notes. I collect quotes and write countless little tidbits for the books I'm writing, and they can pile up fast. So I create word documents and compile them based on subject. Quotes have their own fine, and each novel has its own notes file. This way I can at least narrow down the subject if I'm looking for something I wrote a long time ago. I've also found that, if you have a cell phone, it can fix the clutter to save your thoughts as notes in the phone. Though, even with this method, you'll eventually have to transfer them to a computer.

another great idea. If I type them, they're refreshed in my mind.  I have some restaurant observations of some kids in a booth and I had to really search my brain for where we were. I cld do the photo album below quickly and your idea next.smile smile smile

I tend to do that as well and what I found useful was to tear out the pages from the various notebooks and slip them into an old photograph album I had lying around - the ones with the pockets for slipping in photos are great for slipping notes into. I'm now quite good at remembering to tear my notes and ideas out of my various notebooks and put them into this album that I have sitting on the desk, its also small enough to put into a handbag for carrying around if I need to. Okay it doesn't solve the problem of using multiple notebooks - a habit I've never got out of - but at least I know where all my notes and ideas are when I need to refer to them.

Ah!  and while I was getting ready to move, I found a photo album with pockets that had never been used.   So yours must be a small one.  I NEVER thought of this. Thank you Seeker7  !

LOL... this sounded like me for years. Since I got my Kindle Fire a few months ago, I have digitized all my notes. I keep my tablet nearby so that I can enter my notes there or at least clean up my paper notes at the end of my day. There is a free app called "My Binder: Tabbed Notes." It's awesome. You can create as many notebooks as you wish. Each notebook has 5 tabs that you can categorize. It's awesome!

Abby Campbell, I covet your Kindle!  Actually, my ebook is available on Kindle and ipad, etc. but I can't even see how it LOOKS, 'cuz I haven't sold enough of my ebooks to buy one!  I HAVE to get one.  Can you get audiobooks on the Fire? Thanks!
