Can I check out books from my library directly from a Paperwhite?

    Can I check out books from my library directly from a Paperwhite?

    I currently have a 6 year old Nook and in order to check out a book I have to do it through my computer using Overdrive and Adobe Digital Editions in order to get it on my device.  I would like to skip the computer part and directly download it from my eReader.  Is that possible?
