Carrying your own cross means that you have to deal with the problems of daily living when you choose to take the path to righteousness. That entails sacrificing for your neighbor, giving up worldy desires such as indulging in extravagant and comfortable living and leading simple and exemplary life (which to the best of my knowledge is only true with life lived by saints).
Thank you for supporting and clarifying my life for anyone who doesn't understand. I check this site periodically, but am no longer actively posting to it. All the information that was to be posted has been. Thank you for your interest.
In my opinion, it implies accepting responsibility for ones choices and consequences. To do so, requires a level of maturity that is not only earned, but exericised. Life is a constant challenge, yet the struggles are minimized when we seek to be responsible.
