In my opinion wright what exactly in you hearts, I things this is the only way to express your thought in short story and its also appealing.
I wanted to enter a short story competition a while back and set about trying to write one. Normally I wrote novels and reviews so this concept was entirely new to me. But I asked around and found a great site that helped me immensely.
Basically it talks you through the elements of a short story, what not to do, how to engage your reader from the start and how to finish with a satisfying ending.
Take a look and I really hope it helps.
I think that any form of creative writing can't be taught. It comes from reading a lot, not just a couple books or stories but a truckload Additionally you have to keep writing, practice makes perfect. I've sent some stories into magazines and competitions and some of my earlier ones weren't exactly up to par. Don't get discouraged, keep writing And write what you know...and like amitmishra0123 said make it from your heart, your passion! Hope this helps
Seems there are some basic rules for short stories...but if you feel something deeply, and from your heart the words seem to come and quickly, then you need to go back and edit it...I mix real with make believe, but then I guess we all do.
I wake up in the middle of night occassionaly and have to get up and write it or type it, because in the morning I can't reproduce the thoughts in the same way. Have fun and like someone said already write write write...) Hugs G-Ma

I just read an article on the Mythic Scribes forum that was complaining how many new writers want to jump right in and write an epic novel (this IS a sci-fi/fantasy writer's forum) with no experience... suggesting maybe...

I am risking a ban doing this but I still have no qualms in posting it.This was left on a hub that I wrote. I hope you feel ashamed of the effect your words have on others - I doubt this new hubber is alone: Thank you...
