    Children absorb everything around them, and are instinctively programmed to be like sponges, soaking everything in. Adults...take longer...

    I think it has something to do with neuron formation in the brain. In children they are still forming, where as in adults once they form it's hard to add new ones.

    I really have no idea, but that sounded good. LOL

    According to Jean Piaget, children learn faster around 2 - 8 years of age (Critical Period Hypothesis - according to most psychologists anyway). Although, maybe it's also because children are less conscious about the impression and mistakes they might make? I mean, adults tend to be anxious about making mistakes....
