I do like HP because of
    (1) The mind boggling capacity of imagination of J K Rowling.
    (2) The down to earth characterization of Hermione, Ron and many others (professors) though they are supposed to be witches  and wizards
    (3) The subtle humor
    (4) The basic theme of good versus bad and good winning ultimately.
    (5) its universal appeal and attraction to people of all ages.

Yes, I do like Harry Potter (I wrote an entire hub about why people should read it). The stories are fun and easy to read, though they have plenty of depth for any adult to sink their teeth into. They provide good role models for kids and a wonderful new universe for fans to emerge themselves in.

I love Harry Potter. I read the first one when I was about 11. So I really grew up with the books, and was generally about the same age as Harry, Ron & Hermione as the books got released. They were great to read then, and they are great to read now. They were such an original idea as well - brought something a bit new to the genre I think.

I love HP... they're a great compa... I mean its a great series hehe

I find it well written and engaging. Harry is the boy who is living the life that should have been mine.

When volde... errr... he-who-must-not-be-named attacked my mom, my soul got switched with Harry's and now I'm stuck in your world and he's having fun in mine.

    wink

SImply because it took imagination to write it, gets the mind reeling, and it's fresh. It's fun to read, and the movies aren't half-bad either.

It's interesting, too, how things progressed throughout the series, the dangers growing as the characters  had. You can see in other authors of the same peer set how they all seem to escalate matters at about the same pace.  It's a good formula that seems to be working.

I like HP because of the element of life and love in it. People say that Harry Potter is about death and its after effects, but i do not believe this, I have read HP for loads of times just coz of it s fun to read, and it has all the flavors of life; friendship, love, fear, courage and J. K. Rowling has depicted it in a beautiful way.
Secondly, HP has a very firm plot, theme and justified characters, which makes it one of the best fiction ever written.
    It is worth reading!!
