    Is this sentence correct?

    Yes , I think it is correct. "To" indicates the result of the action. She actually is asleep. "Towards" means to move in the direction of, but she didn't approach sleeping, she actually got there.

    Yes. Think of it as meaning, "She cried until she she fell asleep."

    Yes. The word "herself" is a reflexive pronoun. In this case, the reflective pronoun is used when the subject and object are the same.
