HubPages vs Self hosted Domain - Which do you prefer?
I have recently got myself a self hosted domain and I been wondering a lot if I should just stick to HubPages. Of course, I know the drill that need to be patience and have lots of good stuffs (and backlink too). However, since I am not really a techie type of guy, I believe writing for a writing site like HubPages is a better choice compared to a self maintenance website. What do you think?
If you are not willing to spend A LOT OF TIME working on your own website and waiting for the results, you are better off sticking to HP.
I have a website at http://billdowis.com but there I only focus on my writing, running and some personal postings... Here on hubpages I will publish anything about everything.
Use the two together to begin creating a link wheel. My Hubs always link to my site, but my site NEVER links to my hubs.
Here is a really informative hub about creating a link wheel. This helps with your search engine rankings and will bring all of your work more readers. I suggest following this hubber since he posts some great info. http://sunforged.hubpages.com/hub/The-U … -backlinks
I have 11 websites but i dont use it as a blog. I use it to store my portfolios and other files. Now that i am getting interested in earning through writing, im torn with using my own website or Hubpages. At the end, I decided to use Hubpages because it is already being crawled by search engines and Google-friendly.

I am not all that familiar with the ends and outs of blogging. My understanding is that you can blog about anything- from handy parenting tips to telling people about how you slipped on some ice and landed on your booty in front of a million people. (I don't know why you would write about that, but...
