Why should I write a short story?
I have lots of ideas for content in stories, but I always get stuck when actually starting to write something down. I have structured the plot, planned the characters...but I think my issue is I don't know WHY I'm writing. Is there a niche in purpose? Is it better to influence your reader or just to entertain?
Any writers out there who can give me any tips?
When I have this problem, I do it this way: throw out the structured plot and planned characters and write what comes to you. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it does not.
If you do try this, please let me know how you go.
I have the same problem sometimes, I think that when I write to the reader in my head I am more able to move forward and write .

Any advice or tips on how to write a short story (fiction)?I enjoy writing and have some success here on HubPages with my writing. However, while I have some ideas for short story fiction I haven't been able to produce something that I feel reads well.
