What would your lyrics be about?

Great composers of the past drew their inspiration for vocal compositions from the poems/works of Goethe, Dante, Shakespeare and Milton.  Modern day song writers draw their inspirations for songs from personal experiences (e.g., love affairs, enviroment, etc).  What would your lyrics be about?

If I had to choose a theme for the soundtrack of my life it would be something that was uplifting and made people wanna dance. Anytime I am feeling downtrodden or confused a good booty shaking song always puts a smile on my face, it reminds me to laugh and chill out because life is what you make it and Id want mine to represent triumph and individuality, something inspiring that makes people smile and think like i hope my hubs do...smile

    Greetings John,

This is a very thought provoking question ! I would write lyrics about spirituality and  the importance music has had in my life.  Music has been an anchor in my life and has carried me though many difficult and painful times.  I would write lyrics about this.  I would also be motivated to write lyrics about caring for the environment and  the planet.

Love and love lost, personal growth, and favorite things.  Not "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" types of things, but of how happy I feel when I see a rainbow, what a certain smell reminds me of, or something equally inspiring.

Right now it would be sung to "Up on the Housetop" (Christmas song)

She is now fifty and happy cause...
Now she is done with menopause.
Life seems more clear and well defined,
    past mistakes are left behind.

    Yo ho ho
    She yearns to go
    Yo ho ho
    She wants to know...

How she stopped living a life of zest
now she begins to chart out her quest.

Her kids are growing and make her proud
They have a voice and it sure is loud!
Urging her on to discover herself
No more sitting on the pathetic shelf!

    Yo ho ho
    She wants to know
    Yo ho ho
    How can she grow?

    This new adventure
    will start out slow
    but deep down inside
    she know she will grow!
