What is your personal favorite topic to write about?

Not your most popular topic, or your most heavily visited, I want to know what your passion is, why you write? We all have some sort of fire burning our creative flames, what are yours? Personally, I write in hopes to change societies view of mental health. That is my goal. What is yours?

I like  your topic mental health. I work with some people that  are Bipolar.  I will like to help them , but it is not easy because Bipolar people are unpredictable.  Their behavior is not the same. It is like they were programed in a wrong way. Sometimes they are normal and sometimes they are wrong. They take medicine too.
The issue of two bed in one room for a crisis unit. It is not a good idea. Can you imagine two mentally  sick people in one room.? It is not a pleasant end. Crisis unit should have only one bed in their rooms. Patients get better fast. Art and crafts are good for recuperation.  Physical therapy is essential.  Good luck with your writing.

That is a great aspiration. Having a personal relationship with bipolar disorder I an attest what you shared is very true. However, as you shared again maintenance with medications, cognitive-behaviorism, and therapy offers hope and success.

Kathleen......and a wonderful job you do, in writing so eloquently toward your goal!  It is an excellent mission you have chosen, K.O...and a true gift to your readers.
I'd say I'm on somewhat the same path with my favorite topic of Human Behavior, although my writing thus far has been eclectic.  I'm not in favor of pounding on the same topic continually.  I enjoy a detour here and there.
    There's much to be said about a writer's niche....although I'm a confirmed rebel.
The lesson we can all learn here is that in reality, what we genuinely know best, turns out our most popular & most heavily visited work!
    Great question, K.O.....Glad you asked!

I like to write biographies because I'm interested in people.

I'm also on a quest to educate about copyright infringement when I write about cases that have gone to court, received verdicts and show how our laws are changing with every new verdict.

I want people to learn that there are consequences when someone violates a copyright and the cases I am writing about show the punishment through the judicial system..

I've yet to figure out my goal, or if I even have one. But the topics I'm drawn toward, even if I don't always write, them are fan culture - internet fandom like fanfiction, Comic Cons, science fiction, etc. - and specific mental health categories that I experience in my real life like depression and anxiety.

My favorite topic answering the first question is presently exploring writing techniques for non-fiction. That is inclusive of language, emotions, structure, organization, and simply see, hear, do, and teach.

My passion is sharing and inspiring. I have learned inspiring is an art form as well as lifestyle and life changes. At times an act may be required to offer cause resulting with inspiration. That is at times as easy as hopscotch, riding a bike, or taking a step.

Then, other times, it is complex and is varied with individual and groups. A saying is it is from complexity that simplicity is derived. Sometimes to inspire something complex must occur, even though that could occur with the blink of an eye. Not without oddity causing anger at times is very inspiring. And, with contrast calmness and meekness may be inspiring.

That lends toward the sub-discussion with mental health. Sometimes compassion is the tool as anger and meekness are left on the side. Inspiration shared as having been inspired and inspiration as inspiring are really many times two totally different means seeking an end.

Most of my writing, say 92% is journal form followed by practicing writing. The audience I write to is a creator or my accepted creator firstly, secondly the audience as being a loved one(s), and then comes myself. I find that to be inspiring providing for my passion for the topic shared in the beginning.

Through my writing I try to sort out various misconceptions a) about England in particular and Britain in general and b) about our links with Scandinavia.
The Danes and West Norse (Norwegians) have a bigger influence on English than many give credit for, and many (English included or especially) don't seem to understand what 'English' means. The language (Norman-French word) stems from the majority of the incoming migrants after the Romans left in AD410, Angles or 'Aengle', who spoke 'Aenglisc' or English. The Saxons who came around the same time spoke a language more akin to Old German with its convoluted grammar (like German). The 'Aengle' had a more simplified grammar like the Danes and Jutes next door, and had their own culture. With their input they simplified English grammar further. No sense being proud of your language if you make it hard for foreigners to learn, Fritz.
Now I've got started again! Anyway, north of Middlesex and east of Essex the people were Angles, the Mercians and East Angles respectively, north of them Deirans and Bernicians - Northumbrians collectively - who carved out a kingdom that reached as far as the Forth and owed nothing to the Saxons in the deep south.
Got the picture? Maybe you'll latch on to my Northworld Saga Site and see for yourself.

Wicca & Witchcraft; sharing my faith and spirituality, is why I started writing at Hubpages.

Mostly I freelance as a ghost writer; I write for other people on topics such as home and garden, parenting, education, crafts, news, cooking and entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I do have interests in those topics, but I have to express other people's views and feelings. And I don't get many regular clients asking for articles on Pagan spirituality.

I started writing on hubs and started my Wicca/Witchcraft niches because I really just wanted to pursue that passion.

I think writing is a very strong tool that we all have. However, it takes dedication to master. I believe writing should always be for a great cause. I personally write to change the world, starting by the mind.
Healthy minds means thinking clearly and positively. If my message gets far enough around the world, it will mean more healthy minds, more creativity, less negativity, and eventually a better life.

"LIFE, oh life, oh liiiife, dum dum, dum dum dum dum"!lol
Well good look with trying to change societies views on mental health Kathleen, but haven't you noticed society are mental themselves?lol....Societies views when you think about it are all made up from what they hear, & see on the T.V/news/newspapers etc..So mainly other peoples opinions, & also by what celebs/politicians etc tell them..Basically what I'm saying is people in general don't have an opinion, & are brainwashed to have the collectives opinion as issued by their government..

I do not think so. Every person possesses some unique nature of his own in perceiving things and understanding things. He may be watching society but his behaviour is not completely dependant on his society. To say they get brainwashed is escapism.

Dave36...It's unfortunate that you seem to lump everyone into a closed-minded "society."  Personally, I have not found your slant on this topic, to be true in terms of the public in general.  Intelligent, mature human beings not easily brain washed.

Dave does have a point to a degree. Mass media theorists have demonstrated how they can be successful in influencing opinion. Mental health itself as been used as a means of control too, as suggest by Foucalt in "Madness and Civilisation".

I am a servant, and as such I write to serve. You can also say to inspire; to elevate others and so contribute to a better and more harmonious world.

My passion is Yoga philosophy, and no, I am not talking about physical exercise, but a way of living a peaceful or centred inner and outer life. I write books on the subject, but I have more recently taken up the theme of Love, predominantly between the Lover and the Beloved. I may express yearning or struggle, ending in a final consummation of joy and bliss, in the arms of the Beloved.

So yes, spiritual prose, words in their best order; poetry, the best words in their best order. Good question. Salaam!
