British Authors Publishing in the USA? Problems Filling in Form W-7 (ITIN Please Help Tax With Held)
I have already read & re-read the steps but still don't understand! I followed the procedure then received my application (ITIN W-7) from the tax office USA thus asking me to send off to them examples of identification so that they know I do not, or have not, lived in the USA.
Documents included are A: Passport B: National ID card C: US or foreign drivers licence D: US state ID card!
Please help me if anyone has already been through this process & has cracked the code let me know.
I do not live in the states. I have never visited the country. I must pay my own tax here in the UK.
I'm about to do this myself so wouldn't have a clue but I found this website that you might find helpful. Hopefully I'll be able to bet mine sorted too.

lin8t thank you for your input, the link you provided has given me so much information it now seems just that little more 'do-able' even though, judging by all the author comments there, I didn't realise the vastness of this problem that so many face. What I may do once I have cracked this code successfully is, complete a step by step instructional guide & publish it right here ion hub pages for other non US citizens to follow if someone else do not do this.
Thanks for all your help.

All book writers, answer with a post here to be read, follow, and be followed! I just posted the first ten chapters of my novel, Critical Mass, for my followers, and would love to read work by other new authors, as well as share my own!

I have come across quite a few promising fiction writers here on HubPages, lately - including many people I didn't know before. Please introduce yourselves, whether new or not. You could also mention what you are currently working on, and whether you are seeking feedback from other writers, etc.

If there are any professional, published authors here on hubpages (and I'm sure there are tons of you guys) I was wondering if someone could tell me if self-publishing is good or bad, and maybe give a couple of pros and cons. It would be my first book.

Who here is interested in starting a discussion group for those of us caught up in promoting our books? Self-published, indie-published or traditionally published, all authors need to self-promote. Let's share our experience. Let's work together.
