My dictionary says accolade means approval, high praise (commendation) or hystorical touching with a sword, when dubbing someone knight. I think "helpful accolade" means encouraging and stimulating encomium like: "Great question, you made me think about this, really interesting!"
I'm not quite sure, but I thing there is such a term in the music too.
