What are your top five favourite books for children that you have also read as an adult?
So maybe you loved Winnie the Pooh as a child but also enjoy it as an adult reader - my list includes Pooh, the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and the Narnia Series.
Mars Needs Moms (it's newer so I didn't read it as a kid though)
Amazing Grace (same as Mars Needs Moms)
Bridge to Terabithia
The Secret Garden
Around the World in 80 Days
adventures of tom sawyer
Adventures of hucklbeyy finn
adventures of tin tin
beauty and the beast
Le Petit Prince, Harry Potter (I read first book in 6th grade, and now I'm 24)
Arabian Nights, The Jungle Books, Moby Dick, Huck Finn, and Alhambra.
Animorph series(I read about 12 of the series) and more recently Skulduggery Pleasant series although I only started reading this one and I'm 19 :p
In no particular order:
Winnie-the-Pooh (a beautiful elegy to childhood);
The Wind in the Willows (a charming evocation of the British Edwardian countryside);
His Dark Materials Trilogy (Stunning, dark, challenging and ultimately, exultantly humanist);
The Hobbit (The beginning of a new mythology from the man who taught mythology at Oxford);
Artemis Fowl (a cheeky and irreverant poke at traditional fantasy stories).
The Velveteen Rabbit (so sad but good!)
The Giving Tree
The Giver by Lois Lowery
Number the Stars by Lois Lowery
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
