Why does the UK seem to have more regional accents than USA?
Do you think? How so? We have a ton of different accents. Almost state by state. How many are in the UK?

It's because England as a united country developed before the United States as a country. This means that it's people spent more time in isolation before the country opened up with the development of railways, radio etc, creating various regional accents. Australia, which developed later than both the UK and the USA, hardly has any regional accents.
