   I was an agent at one time and I can tell you the most important thing is to always make your query letters 100% professional. Use the correct format, proper punctuation and be sure there are no spelling mistakes, typos or grammatical errors.
   
   Agents have no shortage of people looking for representation so they won't waste time on anyone who hasn't done his homework.
