   Do you worry about the quality of your own written English when writing hubs?
   
   I certainly do.  I fret if I have got all the grammar etc right.  I love writing but find it difficult to assess whether what sounds fine to me is actually right. 
   
   If you have read any of my work please feel free to include a gramattical/written English mark out of ten and some guidance in your answer here (I will now brace myself!. 
   
   Also if anyone knows of any good free online resources to improve written English I would be grateful if you can share.  I'm now wondering if my English in these additional details is okay? LOL.   Many thanks.

   I don't worry about mine because I'm quite confident; I'm a literacy teacher so I should get it right.  I actually enjoyed grammar lessons at school (what a geek!).  However, I always proof-read to make sure.  We all make mistakes however good we are.  Proof-reading is not fool-proof as we often read what we know SHOULD be there, so do it carefully and reading it aloud is often better.
   There are good grammar books around, some written in a light-hearted way but still giving correct, accurate grammatical examples.  'My Grammar and I (or should that be 'me'?)' is a good one - look on line and read reviews on what you find or look at some other hubbers' work as there are many who know all about good grammar.  I'll get the names and get back to you!

      Victoria Lynn is one hubber who writes about grammar.  Can't find the others I was looking for but if you go to 'hubs' and then search 'grammar' you'll find all sorts.  Good luck!

      Hi Annart - many thanks indeed.  Reading aloud when proofreading is a great tip and I will make time to look at the grammar hubs by the hubber you mention. Your encouragement and considered advice is reassuring.  Thanks again!

   No, I do not worry about the grammatical quality of my writing. I've been a professional journalist for nearly 50 years. I am always concerned about my usage of language, but as Ann says, I am confident in my craft.
   Check out edX.com and coursera.com for some excellent college-level writing courses. The courses offered are free.

      Hi Jim - many thanks for your response and suggested courses which I will look into. Writing is a new venture for me.  No doubt experience brings confidence.  I aim to get there as I'd love to make my living from writing.
