Have you written something that took a lot out of you?

Have you poured so much of yourself into a work here that it left you drained?  If so, just give me the title, not the link.  It will take me some time but that is what I would like to read.

Yes, 'She Sleeps,' I'm not sure if it drained me because it was difficult to write or because it was a difficult personal experience.  I wrote this while sitting by my mothers bedside in her final days.

Yes. My "Dangerous Romance" series. Had no idea what compelled me to write all of that out, but I did and, yes, I had fun doing it, but it drained me all the same.

Yes, I started writing my life story down for my kids so that someday they will have the stories and facts of my childhood. But my childhood was a painful one and I found that reliving it in order to write it down was too hard and it absolutely drained me and I quit working on it.

Yes, for me it was Autism???. I wrote about the initial appointment wherein I was told that my son has 'several autistic charactoristics'.  It was overwhelming because I took me right back to the day, to the appointment and to the fear and panic that I felt.

Yes.. l'm actually doing the same thing that duffsmom is doing. I'm writing different things like my familys toughest journey and other things like my childrens funniest and cutiest moments - that way when they become older, they'll see a lot of what happened in there lives, bad or good.

Nothing on here, but my best friend died of cancer at a young age.  I had to write about her life and talk about her in the church at the funeral. It was the hardest, saddest thing I have ever done.

I am working on some writing that is bringing up some draining issues, that I didn't know existed.  Well, I did, kind of.  But I didn't realize how much of myself was still wrapped up in some of those moments.  Doing a wonderful meditation series is helping out, so that I can hopefully get to the point of pushing the publish button!  A whirlwind of babies are being born, and weddings and birthdays, most of it is good.  The busyness of picking and choosing which direction to go in with all this good news and expectations pulls me back and forth between getting some rest and doing my best to participate in all these wonderful events.
Then to write the stories down, wow.  It is a marvelous challenge.

    Great question!
