I'd have to say Game of Thrones. I started reading it after watching the HBO series. Its intense, dramatic, and easy to get hooked on. How it inspired me? Just reading a good book gave me the inspiration to try writing my own novel again. I started one when I was only 16, got to about 120 Microsoft word pages, and then lost every page. A trojan had infected my computer and my hard drive was fried. Since then I started working on a new book, no details here but maybe one day I'll get it published.
Considering that I'm currently a graduate school student and spend almost all my spare time with my head in the textbooks lately, I have to admit a guilty pleasure that "inspired" me recently (and maybe not in the way you mean, ha ha) was "50 Shades of Grey."
On a more serious note, "She's Not There" by Jenny Boyland was an amazing read. My all time favorite, though, is "Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls. Can you tell I enjoy memoir?
I asked this question because I was so inspired by Dying to be Me by Anita Moorjani. Here is a link to the hub I wrote about it. http://msperfecthealth.hubpages.com/hub … iring-book
