Would you say that you need no help with your vocabulary?

I have always been an avid reader.  I still remember the time when I used to have to hold my eyes open with forefinger and thumb to stop them from closing, because, tired as I was I just could not leave the book I was reading!

I have also always loved writing, but it is only recently that I ever thought of publishing at all.  Despite my reading there are many times when I have to search for a synonym , to find just the right word.

    I have come across this - https://robbsdramaticlanguages.wordpres … 14/07/31/.

Others may, like me, find it useful.

Do tell me whether you like it.

I always need help with vocabulary, although I would say I need more help with memory recall. Those synapses just don't fire the same way they used to misfiring here and there, jumping to a ground sort to speak or leaking passed the insulation, and also not enough umphhh to jump the gap like the coil has lost its powerful punch becoming a rainy drizzle.

Regarding the site it is somewhat daunting to me. I ponder because it appears to be for high school age, which causes me to wonder how much of that umphhh mentioned above I still have. Reading the exercises over at the site I consider going back to school and taking tune-up English grammar classes while contemplate the time required. Alas, I will seek to envision the vision while watering the garden today . . .

    Thanks for asking :-)

Tim Mitchell - you had me nodding vigorously and chuckling like a chook!! LOL!!  You said what I could have said but would not have had the gumption to do !!  Thank you so much for your comments.  Many of us are on that page!

I always feel the need to find out new words or get to know the synonyms for words and phrases that I come across. There will be always something new that you can learn.

I have that need too VM, and I also have the same challenge as Tim Mitchell, so I have to work twice as hard at it!  LOL!!.  Maybe that is why I was keen to share my "find".  Thank you for reading and responding.

In writing my Conquest era saga I often refer back to the Thesaurus on my laptop for alternative words - trying to avoid the use of French or Latin derived words, as my characters are English or Anglo-Danes - but even the Thesaurus doesn't know everything! (I find myself referring to the printed version for a solution).
For instance, more than half the words in this comment are either French or Latin derived. However, with some research you can find a lot of English words in modern use that would have been understood in 11th Century England.

It's a lifelong pursuit. I'm always in search of the perfect word.  One word can change everything. Thanks for the link.
