First of all, you need to have a storyline idea and a couple of characters for your cast--good and bad. You also need a plot and a few subplots or two. Since you're studying biotech, maybe you can do a sci fi or steampunk fiction. There's plenty of magazines and books out there on how to write a book, even online articles. Your education should come first, while you pursue your career. Good luck! BTW, Nano is this November.
You could start by reading the Bible. Those mythological stories will blow your socks off! And then if you wanted to start a religion based on your fictional writings, you already have your "holy book!"
I think you're being too sensitive about this. It's a well-known fact that the Bible contains some mythological stories and I'm free to joke about that fact. The fact that you commented here shows you have taken some offense, but it's not clear why.
You can't change your passion. You can change what you pursue. Invest time writing, reading and having discussions with experienced people in anything related to literature. Writing is a skill, like any other, you need to practice in order to master.
